Is love important? Are you a loving person?

1 Corinthians 13:1-13

1 If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels but do not have love, I have become a sounding [piece of] brass or a clashing cymbal. 2 And if I have the gift of prophesying and am acquainted with all the sacred secrets and all knowledge, and if I have all the faith so as to transplant mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 And if I give all my belongings to feed others, and if I hand over my body, that I may boast, but do not have love, I am not profited at all.

4 Love is long-suffering and kind. Love is not jealous, it does not brag, does not get puffed up, 5 does not behave indecently, does not look for its own interests, does not become provoked. It does not keep account of the injury. 6 It does not rejoice over unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth. 7 It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

8 Love never fails.

Is love important? Are you a loving person?
At 1 Corinthians 8:1, Paul used the Greek word a·ga′pe, denoting principled love.

It builds up, for it is long-suffering and kind, bears and endures all things, and never fails. This love dispels damaging emotions, such as pride and jealousy. (1 Corinthians 13:4-8)

The apostle Paul was inspired to command: “Let your brotherly love continue.” (Hebrews 13:1)

According to one scholarly work, the Greek word here translated “brotherly love” (phi·la·del·phi′a) “refers to affectionate love, showing kindness, sympathy, offering help.”

Paul showed that this love must be continuous so it is not enough to feel affection for our brothers; we must let it show.

We must make this love last, never letting it grow cold.

Love is an identifying mark of true Christians today

John 13:35

Jehovah is the personification of love

“He that does not love has not come to know God, because God is love.”—1 John 4:8.

Love %26amp; hugs to all my brothers %26amp; sisters out there!

:)
Reply:Yes and yes.
Reply:Love never fails BUT

What if you are outside of the commandments?

What if you have your faith and love in the wrong people%26gt;?

Is it true or not that we need to be carefull who we let in our lifes or love because it can affect are spiritual well being?

We can generally love everyone tho just that we cannot love them at the expense of are spiritual well being.
Reply:Love is the Eternal All.
Reply:Love for my son is most important. I have just recently found love with a man after many many years. It is nice.
Reply:Jesus said that the greatest and first commandment was to love Jehovah your God with your whole heart and with your whole soul and with your whole mind.’ The second greatest was to love your neighbor as yourself. he then said that the whole law and the prophets hangs on those 2 things. (Matthew 22:37-40) Without love, it is impossible to be obedient to other requirements of God such as the mandate to preach and teach the good news of God's Kingdom. (Matthew 24:14; 28:19,20)

The highest form of love Agape, is not simply an emotion but is a moral or social love based on deliberate assent of the will as a matter of principle, duty, and propriety, sincerely seeking the other’s good according to what is right. It transcends personal enmities, never allowing these to cause one to abandon right principles and to retaliate in kind. this is the love that motivates me and millions of my christian brothers and sisters, to carry the gospel to the doors of people who are not always receptive or even polite. We know that it is God's will that " all sorts of men should be saved and come to an accurate knowledge of truth." - 1 Timothy 2:4
Reply:Love is very important. It is a beautiful feeling and everyone should experience it.

Sinch God is Love, and if God is in your relationship, He is in your Love, and it is more strong and more beautiful!

Love is a beautiful feeling and it is undescribable.
Reply:It is THE most important thing. I believe I am a loving person.
Reply:"The greatest of these is love..."

Love is very important.
Reply:Love can be important but you even have to control your self from it!

Yes, I am a loving person, even tho i don't want to but i cant control it!

Love is something that you just feel in your heart and you cant control it !!

The most important thing for me is to love God and his prophet Mohamed! and that's the real love that we should feel!
Reply:Besides the definition of love in 1 Corinthians 13, Jesus stated that that would be the true mark of his people - if they had love among themselves.

I consider myself to be a loving person.

But I also follow the counsel in Corinthians where it says to widen out. So I try to be loving toward all those I can be.
Reply:Love is very important. I try to love everyone as Jesus and God loves us.
Reply:We aren't perfect or able to love completely in the unconditional love without having Christ and His love in us.

In ourselves we are incapable to love without failing.

Yes, it is important to love as God loves us.
