Does love not always last a long time?

this may seem like a stupid question. i realise that relationships often dont last long, but if you trully love some one, dont you keep loving them even when the relationship has ended? it just seems like sometimes ive felt like i love some one, and im crazy about them, but then it only takes me a month or so (sometimes less, sometimes more) to get over them. one girl i was completely obsessed with about 4 or 5 years ago i rarely think or care about now. does that mean that i wasnt really in love? is this normal? im not experienced enough to know. love doesnt come and go this quickly right? i struggle to believe that ive really been in love, even if i feel completely in love, cos my feelings dont endure.

any advice would be great.

thanks a lot

If you can get over it quickly without hardly any feeling for them then it wasn't true love
Reply:Sweety love is a choice, you choose to love a person, and you can choose not to love them anymore. Love is universal and free for all!
Reply:think your feeling lust not love!
Reply:What your expiriencing isn't love. Its that you really like someone or puppy love. I've gone through that a million times. Trust me it's normal. Plus before you find "the one" you'll usually expirience your first love.
Reply:You probably loved them without actually being in love with them. This is normal and eventually you will fall in love for real - then you really will know the difference! Hope this helps.
Reply:yes, it does. if you really love someone, you continue to think of them from time to time throughout your life.

I believe what you have experienced is infatuation, and the obsession/pursuit/capture/boredom cycle.

in short, you're chasing shadows.

when you really experience love, you'll know.
Reply:You have not found love yet.
