Teenage Love??

you know how 12 year olds, teenagers say they fall in love, or if they're going out and say I LOVE YOU...do you really think they know what it means...do you think they mean it??


do you think that you can know what loves means at such an early age??





i'm just curious but i really wanna know...i have friends who are going out and say I LOVE YOU to their bf/gf...and i always say in my head "do you really know what love means?".Or when my friend breaks up with the other person for some reason (exp:cheating), then afterward they say "but i still love them". are you sure it's not a just a CRUSH?? do they even know what love means??

Teenage Love??
It is completely possible for a teenager to fall in love. I do believe though that a LOT of teens say and THINK they're in love but in reality aren't. You have to consider how long they've been with the person. If they've been with them for 2 months and say they're in love, they most likely aren't. When I was 16 I fell in love with a boy. We were together for 16 months. He helped me through some health problems and was there for me through my parents' divorce. I know that I was in love. So yes, it is possible... but I would have to agree that a lot of teens that say they're in love really arent. If they can get COMPLETELY over him/her in anytime less than I'd say 6 months it definately was not true love.

Reply:I have the same questions. They don't know what it means, they might have seen "how to love someone" on television.....so they think "OH.....if I do that, it means I love someone....." or they know what it means.
Reply:i think people should not treat them like babies. in this time of the world, people learn at a young age almost everything they know when they are grown ups. it might not mean what they really think, but at least it tells us something, the world is growin up.

In my math class, there's this medium height girl and a short guy. they are both really smart. i think they look cute together but then again, its not about how they look. its nice to hear them work out a hard math problem. they always save eachother seats and laugh alot.

Reply:At twelve years old we have what we call puppy love, but unless you are ready to stick that toothbrush next to his then it is not really love because anyone can say i love you, but to actually mean it means that your ready for that big commitment.

they probably jus think its sumthin ur supposed 2 say in a relationship bczu they see it on telly or on movies or sumthin they will not know wat love means until they r older

Real love doesn't come till their REAL HORMONES kick in.When they actually have been going on dates, been with each other for months, and act serious.

The human brain reaches its maturity point somewhere around the 21 years old. That is the reason:


1. we call the sex relation with a minor "statutory rape", because even being consensual, the minor is not mature enough to consent.


2. The minor cannot be bind into a legal contract.


3. The minor is granted a conditional driver license.


4. When a crime is committed, the minor receive the sentence according to a special set of rules -not as harsh as those for adults.


5. No, I do not believe the brain of a 12 years-old is mature enough to fall in love: it is just curiosity, or as you said a crush, or infatuation.
